Meet the Director

A LITTLE BACKGROUND

 Mrs. Tolar graduated from Reinhardt University in May of 2015 with her Bachelor's Degree in Music Education.   She has performed with a selected ensemble at Carnegie Hall in New York and at the 2015 Georgia Music Educator Association Conference in Savannah, GA. 


 While at PJHS, Mrs. Tolar directed many shows including Peter Pan Jr., The Lion King Jr., The Little Mermaid Jr., Seussical Jr., Mary Poppins Jr. , and Into the Woods Jr. musicals.  


She began the tradition of a fall dinner theatre fundraiser in 2017, directing the play "Cinderella", put on by her 8th grade drama class.  


Since then, she directed "10 Ways to Survive the Zombie Apocalypse" (2018), "Campsite Chaos" (2019),  "This is a Test" (2020), "The Rehearsal" (Spring 2021), "A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to Fifth Period (Fall 2021), "It's not you, it's me" (Fall 2022), "The Princess and the Pea" (Spring 2023), "The Bubblegum Murders" (Fall 2023), "Melissa Tunes In" (Fall 2024).


She also acts as the Music Director/ Assistant Director for FX Productions.  She has been a part of the creative team for "A Christmas Story, The Musical" (2017), "Shrek, The Musical" (2018), and "The Hunchback of Notre Dame" (2020). 


 Additionally, Mrs. Tolar has taught private voice and piano lessons outside of school and still performs professionally on occasion.

Mrs. Tolar is married to her high school sweetheart.

Mrs. Tolar got married in December of 2016 in her home town of Powder Springs, GA.

She loves her dogs!

Mrs. Tolar loves her two dogs, Red and Misty.

Mrs. Tolar gave birth to her third daughter in May of 2025.
