Welcome to the PJHS Drama Dept. Page

 We offer two levels of chorus at Pickens Junior High School, Drama I (7th grade) and Drama II (8th grade). 

These middle school theatre courses develop the skills necessary for confident public speaking, collaborative work, and performing in dramatic and musical theatre situations. Students will explore the history of theatre starting in the ancient world, complete hands-on projects, and view professional performances. Through these opportunities, students will develop their acting, movement, and vocal performance techniques through active participation and reflection. 

This is a performance based class, which means that many class periods will be spent rehearsing and performing in front of classmates and the teacher. There will also be a focus on the audition process. Each nine weeks will end with a solo or group performance “final” which will make up a significant portion of their grade at that time.
