About our Classes and Performances

Classes

We offer two levels of chorus at Pickens Junior High School, 7th grade chorus and 8th grade chorus. in these classes, we learn about the basics of reading and writing music, sight-singing, concert etiquette, Mixed in with learning all of these skills, students in chorus also prepare choral repertoire (songs) that we perform at different times throughout the year.

We typically have four concerts during the school year:

Fall Chorus Concert - October
Winter Chorus Concert - December
Pre-LGPE Chorus Concert - March
Spring Pops Concert - May

Occasionally we will have other performances such as morning caroling in the halls, spontaneous pop-up performances around school, and performing at various PJHS events like "White Christmas" and other assemblies held during school.
